Philip Seymour Hoffman's death is not likely to have an impact on the release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1.

Hoffman took on the role of Plutarch Havensbeen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and is set to reprise the part in the upcoming sequels.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor had just seven days of filming left on the franchise. However, all of his filming for the first part of Mockinjay had been completed.

In a statement Lionsgate paid tribute to the Oscar winning actor: "Philip Seymour Hoffman was a singular talent and one of the most gifted actors of our generation.

"We're very fortunate that he graced our Hunger Games family.

"Losing him in his prime is a tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Philip's family."

Hoffman had also completed work on A Most Wanted Man and God's Pocket - both films screened at the Sundance Film Festival last month.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is set expected to be released 21st November. The final part of the trilogy will be released a year later.
