Meryl Streep is set to turn into a rocker this summer as she stars in Ricki and the Flash... and you can see her in action in the brand new trailer.

Streep takes on the central role of Ricki, who has given up everything to pursue her rock and roll dream, as she teams up with director Jonathan Demme.
This is the first feature film for Demme since A Master Builder back in 2013, while Diablo Cody is back having penned the screenplay.

A terrific cast for the film has been assembled as Sebastian Stan, Ben Platt, Kevin Kline, and Audra McDonald, while Streep stars opposite her real-life daughter Mamie Gummer - who plays Ricki's daughter Julie.
Gummer has followed her mum into the acting business and has starred in Cake, Echo Park, and Side Effects during her career so far. However, Ricki and the Flash is one of her biggest film roles to date.
In an original and electrifying film loaded with live musical performances, Streep stars as Ricki Rendazzo, a guitar heroine who made a world of mistakes as she followed her dreams of rock-and-roll stardom.
Returning home, Ricki gets a shot at redemption and a chance to make things right as she faces the music with her family.
Ricki and the Flash is released this August.
