Robin Wright

Robin Wright and Sam Worthington are two of the newest names to be added to the Everest cast list.

Filming is already underway on Everest, but now director Baltasar Kormákur has added two more names to the line-up.

According to THR, Wright will play the wife of Josh Brolin's character, while Worthington will play scaling expert Guy Cotter.

Josh Brolin, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, John Hawkes and Emily Watson are some of the names that are already on board.

This is the first film for Kormákur since 2 Guns last summer, while Simon Beaufoy, Mark Medoff, Justin Isbell, and William Nicholson have penned the screenplay.

Last week it was revealed that Everest had been pushed back to a September 2015 U.S. release; it was originally due to hit the big screen 27th February 2015.

Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, Everest documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind.

Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival.

A UK release date for the film has not yet been announced.
