Sally Field

Sally Field

Sally Field has described her Lincoln co-star Daniel Day-Lewis as 'wonderful' and says that she loved working with him.

The pair play Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln in the Steven Spielberg directed biopic about the former U.S. President - a movie that has been a huge critical hit.

Both Field and Day-Lewis have picked up Oscar nominations for their performances but the Best Actor gong for Day-Lewis looks a certainty.

Speaking to the Press Association the actress said: "I'm very proud to be a part of this film so any recognition that comes to this film, I'm proud of it.

"He's just bliss. He's a wonderful, wonderful man and I adore him."

Field has picked up a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nod for her performance but faces tough competition in the form of Anne Hathaway - who has won just about everything on the award's circuit so far.

But should Field cause an upset next month it would be her third Oscar win having won two Best Actress gongs in her career already.

Lincoln is out now.
