Sally Hawkins has described working on Godzilla as 'amazing'.
Hawkins steps into the big budget blockbuster for the first time as the Godzilla franchise is given a reboot.
The movie will see the actress team up with director Gareth Edwards - in what is the biggest movie of her career.
Speaking to Digital Spy the actress said: "I didn't actually get to play with Godzilla much. He is quite big and scaly and frightening. I think I saw his eye once on green screen through a window.
"It was a blast. I do mainly small British films so to be planted in Godzilla-land for a few months was amazing."
Hawkins is just one of the names on the all-star Godzilla cast as Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche and David Strathairn are all also on board.
Hawkins returned to the big screen this weekend with Blue Jasmine; a movie that sees her star alongside Cate Blanchett.
Godzilla is released 16th May 2014.
