Omar Sy has a very busy summer ahead with him with a role in Jurassic Park, but Samba is one of the smaller movies to catch him in at the beginning of next month.

Samba sees Sy reunite with directors Olivier Nakache, and Eric Toledano, with whom he enjoyed huge critical success with Untouchable in 2012. I have to say, I am excited to see them collaborating once again.

Samba is a big screen adaptation of the novel by Delphine Coulin and sees Sy take on the central role of Samba Cisse. And he features in some great new images from the film:

A great cast has been assembled for the film, as Sy is joined by Charlotte Gainsbourg, Tahar Rahim, Izïa Higelin, and Helene Vincent.

Samba, Senegalese in France for 10 years, collects odd jobs; Alice is a senior executive exhausted by a burn out. It is trying by all means to get his papers while she is trying to rebuild through volunteering in an association.

Everyone tries to get out of deadlock until the day their paths cross ... Between humour and emotion, history makes its another way to happiness. And if life had more imagination than they?

Samba is released 1st May.
