Stef Dawson

Stef Dawson

Australian actress Stef Dawson has been cast in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay'.

The little-known actress will play Annie Cresta in both part one and two of Francis Lawrence's 'Mockingjay' films, which will be released in November 2014 and 2015, respectively.

The character is taken from Suzanne Collins' 'Hunger Games' novels, in which she is a former victor of the fictitious Hunger Games from District 4 and a love interest for Finnick Odair, played by Sam Claflin.

Annie has a brief role in the second 'Hunger Games' book, 'Catching Fire', but the character will not be introduced in this year's movie of the same name.

Dawson has previously had roles in Australian TV shows and movies such as 'Manhaters!', 'Shadow of the Monarch' and 'Wrath'.

British actress Natalie Dormer - best known for her roles in 'Game of Thrones' and 'The Tudors' - recently joined the final two instalments in the fantasy franchise, also. She is set to play Cressida, a filmmaker who runs away from the powerful Capitol and helps heroine Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in her ongoing rebellion.

The second film in the franchise, 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire', is out in November.
