The Amazing Spider Man 2

The Amazing Spider Man 2

The Amazing Spider Man 2 has dominated the Easter box office, as it stormed to the #1 spot.

The Amazing Spider Man 2 comes two years after the success of the first film, and sees Andrew Garfield return to the title role. There is also no change in the director's chair, as Marc Webb is back.

The movie took over £9 million to comfortably see off the challenge from Rio 2 and Noah.

Rio 2 was up a place to two this week, as it leapt over Noah. Despite Noah being down a place at three, the movie has broke the $300 million barrier worldwide this week.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier was down three places, as it finished the weekend in fourth. Comedy The Love Punch was the second new entry inside the top five at five.

Divergent fell out of the top five, as it dropped two places from four to six. However, there was no move for Calvary at seven.

Muppets Most Wanted was down two at eight, while Locke - which is the new film from Tom Hardy - was new at nine.

The movie sees him team up with director Steven Knight for the first time, as he delivers a terrific solo performance.
