The House is the feature film directorial debut of Andrew Jay Cohen, starring huge movie stars Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell in what looks to be one of the funniest and most entertaining big screen releases of the year. Warner Bros. Pictures have this week revealed the first image, online art and official trailer for the release; which you can watch in the video above.

The official synopsis for the movie reads: “After Scott and Kate Johansen (Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler) lose their daughter Alex’s college fund, they become desperate to earn it back so she can pursue her dream of attending a university. With the help of their neighbour Frank (Jason Mantzoukas), they decide to start an illegal casino in the basement of his house.

The flick is shaping up to be a memorable one if the trailer is anything to go by; Poehler and Ferrell are extremely talented within the comedy genre and seem to excel here. Though there’s a hint at violence towards the end of the teaser, it leads to perhaps the funniest moment showcased to-date; this isn’t a movie that’s going to turn into something hugely serious during its Second Act.

With an original idea and cast that can serve up infectious performances, The House is a film that will be making its way onto the wishlist of cinema-goers across the UK a little later this year.

Jeremy Renner, Rob Huebel, Allison Tolman, Cedric Yarbrough, Nick Kroll, Jessie Ennis, Michaela Watkins and Ryan Simpkins all also star. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien co-wrote the screenplay.

The House comes to cinemas in the UK on June 30, 2017.
