Lana Wachowski’s The Matrix: Resurrections has seen another trailer release, and fans are getting more and more excited to see Keanu Reeves back in one of his most iconic roles.

The Matrix: Resurrections is set to release in just over two weeks’ time, and audiences worldwide are getting ready to witness the fourth instalment in the popular sci-fi series, The Matrix.

The latest movie is set to follow Neo (Reeves) once again, but in a narrative that will intrigue, delight, and shock fans of the original.

Neo is tormented with strange and somewhat disturbing memories that he cannot explain or understand, but his life takes a drastic turn when he finds himself back in The Matrix...

This film seems hell-bent on creating a deeply enjoyable and unique atmosphere; the trailers for it don’t give away all the answers (if any), which only serves to set up a more thrilling cinematic experience.

The newly-released trailer has more than peaked fans’ interests, as it shows a new side to the upcoming release. We’re shown clips from previous films in The Matrix series, new shots of Neo and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), as well as being introduced to new and old characters alike.

The Matrix: Resurrections has a brilliant cast, and joining Reeves and Moss are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (CandymanAquaman) as Morpheus, Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens), Jonathan Groff (HamiltonMindhunter), Neil Patrick Harris (Gone Girl), Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Quantico), with Christina Ricci (Escaping the Madhouse: The Nellie Bly Story, The Lizzie Borden Chronicles) and Telma Hopkins (Dead to Me)

Having entertained since 1999, hardcore fans are expecting the best from the new offering. Keeping Neo’s story going may be harder that it looks, with many story threads from previous films to keep in mind. with both the character and the narrative.

Reeves appears to be very busy at the moment, as John Wick 4 is underway and there's a lot of pressure to get it right. However, his fans' excitement seems to be focused on his newest Matrix venture, which releases very soon...

The Matrix: Resurrections will be in cinemas on December 22nd, 2021.
