Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy has revealed that he was 'terrified' while filming Star Trek: Nemesis in 2002.

Hardy took on the role of Praetor Shinzon alongside Patrick Stewart and admits he didn't have a single drink during the filming process.

Speaking to Total Film, the actor said: "I was terrified. Everyday on that set, I was terrified - which worked for the character anyway.

"You can't hide that, the camera will pick it up. I was genuinely out of my depth. The whole thing was 'How can I do this?' I took it very seriously, with my technique.

"I didn't have a single drink when I did it - for three months. Friday night, nothing! I'd never been so focused in my life! I couldn't get the job done [otherwise]."

Since 2002, Hardy's star has gone on to rocket and he is now one of the most in demand actors.

We are going to be seeing plenty of his this year, as Locke, Child 44, The Drop and Mad Max: Fury Road are all set to be released.

He is also set to start filming on Rocketman, and will take on the role of Elton John in the new biopic.
