Hiddleston has teamed up with Wheatley for the first time for High-Rise, which is a big screen adaptation of the novel by J.G. Ballard as the director returns for his first movie since A Field in England back in 2013.

The British actor was on the red carpet at the BFI London Film Festival this weekend, where the movie screened as part of the gala section of the festival.

Speaking on the red carpet, the actor revealed how much he enjoyed working with Wheatley: "I had so much fun making this film with Ben. He is such a wise man, he is such a kind man and he wears his knowledge about film very lightly. He is mischievous; he has a misbehaviors energy in terms of what he is prepared to put on film.

"I am a huge admirer of his other work, especially Kill List and A Field In England. I think A Field In England is a masterpiece."

Hiddleston is set to take on the role of Dr. Robert Laing in the movie and is joined on the cast list by Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, James Purefoy, and Keeley Hawes.

High-Rise is set to kick off a busy period for Hiddleston as we are set to see him in Crimson Peak, which sees him team up with director Guillermo del Toro, and I Saw the Light, a biopic which will see him take on the role of musician Hank Williams.

As well as a string of exciting film projects, the actor is also set to return to the small screen in BBC series The Night Manager alongside Olivia Colman, Elizabeth Debicki, David Harewood, Tom Hollander, and Hugh Laurie.

Hiddleston is also set to star in Kong: Skull Island and Thor: Ragnarok, both of which are in pre-production. Thor: Ragnarok will see him reprise the role of Loki for the first time since Thor: The Dark World back in 2013.
