Paramount Pictures will bring the Transformers franchise back to the big screen later this year in the form of Transformers: The Last Knight. Now, a brand new clip from the film has been released to whet the appetites of fans, showcasing the danger that humans are facing and the forces that will rise up to protect them in their time of need. Directed by Michael Bay – who says this is his final time in the Director’s Chair for a Transformers movie – The Last Knight features an all-star cast and will be the biggest, most chaotic action-packed adventure to-date, if the synopsis is anything to go by. It reads:
“The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock). “There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.”
The past few months have seen some incredible promotional material and marketing from the Transformers team, with a huge trailer debuting at this year’s Super Bowl game and a new trailer debuting at the Kids Choice Awards – though not yet officially released through Paramount Picture’s various social media channels..
Transformers: The Last Knight is released in UK cinemas on June 23, 2017.
