Out of the Furnace

Out of the Furnace

Christian Bale has a series of movies on the horizon over the next few months, Out of the Furnace is just one of them.

Out of the Furnace sees Bale team up with director Scott Cooper for the first time as he makes only his second feature film.

We haven't see Bale on the big screen since last summer and this revenger-thriller gives him a character to, once again, really get his teeth in to.

We have the brand new trailer for the film for you to take a look at:

Scott Cooper grabbed everyone's attention when he made his directorial debut with Crazy Heart: this is his first feature film outing for the actor turned director since that success. Cooper is not only in the director's chair as he has teamed up with Brad Ingelsby to pen this tense screenplay.

It is not all about Bale, as a fantastic cast has been assembled around the Oscar winning actor.

Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Zoe Saldana, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe and Sam Shepard are all also on board: this really is one of the best early ensemble casts of 2014.

Russell Baze (Christian Bale) has a rough life: he works a dead-end blue collar job at the local steel mill by day, and cares for his terminally ill father by night.

When Russell’s brother Rodney (Casey Affleck) returns home from serving time in Iraq, he gets lured into one of the most ruthless crime rings in the Northeast and mysteriously disappears.

The police fail to crack the case, so - with nothing left to lose - Russell takes matters into his own hands, putting his life on the line to seek justice for his brother.

Bale is one of the best actors of his generation and I am excited to see him in all of his projects over the next twelve months or so.

Out of the Furnace is released 31st January 2014.
