The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

The Hunger Games has been the best young adult fiction franchise in recent years, but it is set to reach its epic conclusion this autumn.

I was a huge fan of the novels and think that they have been translated to the big screen well with Jennifer Lawrence being the perfect casting as Katniss Everdeen.

I have been looking forward to the release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 ever since the credits rolled on part one. Mockingjay - Part 1 was a film that steadily built up to film two and it is going to be an action packed and devastating finale.

There are eight months to go until the film hits the big screen and the brand new teaser poster for the film has been unveiled... once again showing the Mockingjay symbol. A great video has also been released showing the evolution of that symbol over the course of the movies:

Lawrence really was a terrific choice as Katniss and she has captured the strength and the vulnerability of this character beautifully throughout the whole franchise. This is the character that really sent her star rocketing and I am going to be sad to see her leave it behind.

Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Natalie Dormer, Julianne Moore, Elizabeth Banks, and Sam Claflin are all back as Gale, Peeta, Cressida, President Alma Coin, Effie and Finnick Odair, while Gwendoline Christie is a new face on board.

There are not too many major new characters to introduce in the final instalment, but the Game of Thrones star will take on the role of Commander Lyme.

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends - including Gale (Hemsworth), Finnick (Claflin), and Peeta (Hutcherson) - Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her.

The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 is set to be one of the biggest movies of the year, and will bring this terrific franchise to a close with a bang.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 is released 20th November.
