The Invisible Woman

The Invisible Woman

Ralph Fiennes is just one of the actors that we will be seeing in the director’s chair this year, as he returns with The Invisible Woman.

The Invisible Woman is the second directorial outing for Fiennes; he made his debut in 2012 with Coriolanus, he will also star in the movie as Charles Dickens.

The movie is a big screen adaptation of Claire Tomalin’s book The Invisible Woman: The Story of Nelly Ternan and Charles Dickens.

We have a trio of great new clips from the film for you to take a look at ahead of the film’s release at the beginning of next month:

Nelly (Jones), a happily married mother and schoolteacher, is haunted by her past. Her memories, provoked by remorse and guilt, take us back in time to follow the story of her relationship with Charles Dickens (Fiennes) with whom she discovered an exciting but fragile complicity.

As Nelly becomes the focus of Dickens’ passion and his muse, for both of them secrecy is the price, and for Nelly a life of 'invisibility'.

Fiennes is joined on the cast list by Felicity Jones, Kristen Scott Thomas, Joanna Scanlan and Tom Hollander.

2013 is set to be a very exciting year for up and coming star Jones, I have already had the pleasure of seeing this movie and she really does give a tremendous central performance.

Claire Tomalin’s book has been adapted for the big screen by Abi Morgan; she has written screenplays for Shame, The Iron Lady, as well as being the creator for hit TV show The Hour.

The Invisible Woman really is a fantastically written, acted and directed film that once again shows Fiennes at his directorial best.

The Invisible Woman is released 7th February.
