The Riot Club

The Riot Club

The Riot Club is one of the British movies to watch out for this autumn, as Lone Scherfig returns to the director's chair.

Scherfig has been behind movies such as Just Like Home and An Education, but this is her first film since One Day back in 2011.

The Riot Club is based on the 2010 play Posh by Laura Wade, and Wade has adapted her own play into the film screenplay.

What is so exciting about The Riot Club, is the exciting young cast that has been assembled for it.

Max Iron, Sam Claflin, and Douglas Booth have landed the roles of Miles Richard, Alistair Ryle, and Harry Villiers.

Meanwhile, Holliday Grainger, Natalie Dormer, and Jessica Brown Findlay are also on board.

Set amongst the privileged elite of Oxford University, The Riot Club follows Miles (Irons) and Alistair ( Claflin), two first year students determined to join the infamous Riot Club, where reputations can be made or destroyed over the course of a single evening.

We have already been treated to a range of terrific British films so far this year, and The Riot Club looks set to follow that tradition.

While The Rio Club boasts a cast list that we should be getting excited about, it is going to be interesting to see just how the play translates to the big screen.

The Riot Club is released 19th September.
