Thor: The Dark World

Thor: The Dark World

Thor: The Dark World is the autumn movie that I am super excited for… I am quite literally counting down the weeks until it hit’s the big screen.

It will be the first time that we have seen Chris Hemsworth take on this role since he was part of Avengers Assemble last summer.

It has already been an excellent year for Marvel and it looks like Thor: The Dark World will continue that great success.

A brand new trailer for the movie has been released and you can take a look at it:

It is all change in the director’s chair second time around as Alan Taylor - known for his work on Game of Thrones -  takes over the helm from Kenneth Branagh.

Events of Thor: The Dark World is set to follow on from Avengers Assemble as Thor returns to Asgard with Loki.

Speaking of Loki we are going to see Tom Hiddleston return to that role once again. Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman and Idris Elba are also back.

There is one big addition to the cast list, as Christopher Eccleston takes on the role of Malekith; we are introduced to this character for the first time and he will be the baddie this time around.

Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.

Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness.

Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Thor: The Dark World is the second movie in Marvel’s Phase Two of films - following on from Iron Man 3 earlier this summer.

And Phase 2 is set to be an exciting time for Marvel film fans as Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy are both set to follow. Phase 2 will be brought to a climax in the summer of 2015 with The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Thor: The Dark World is set to be one of the movies not to miss this autumn and will continue Chris Hemsworth’s meteoric rise.

Thor: The Dark World is released 30th October.
