Thor: The Dark World

Thor: The Dark World

Thor: The Dark World is set to be the blockbuster of the autumn as Chris Hemsworth returns to the title role for the first time since Avengers Assemble.

Thor is the role that has turned Chris Hemsworth in a global superstar and The Dark World looks set to be bigger and darker than the first film.

A brand new TV spot shows Hemsworth at his charming and comedic self, while we also get a look at Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster:

Thor: The Dark World will mark the third time that Tom Hiddleston has taken on the role of Loki. The actor has gone on to hint that there is a chance that we could see him in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Hiddleston looks set to be as his wicked best, but he is not the major villain this time around.

That honour belongs to Malekith - Christopher Eccleston will take on this role and he is the big addition to the cast list.

But it is Alan Taylor that I am excited to see as he has taken over the director's chair from Kenneth Branagh.

Taylor is best known for his work on TV smash Game of Thrones and I can't wait to see him work his magic on this franchise.

In the aftermath of Avengers Assemble, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness.

Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

2013 has already been a fantastic year for Marvel, Iron Man 3 grossed over $1 billion, and Thor: The Dark World looks set to continue the Phase Two success.

Thor: The Dark World is released 30th October.
