Transformers: Age of Extinction looks set to be a rip-roaring ride this summer, as the first theatrical trailer for the film has been released.

Michael Bay is back in the director's chair for the fourth instalment of the popular franchise, and it this looks to be as big and as action packed as ever.

Paramount Pictures has released the new trailer, and we have it for you to check out - and it feature Optimus Prime kicking some ass:

Despite talk that Bay was walking away from the franchise, he is back, while Ehren Kruger has penned the screenplay this time around.

The movie is set four years after the events of Dark of the Moon, and brings together a brand new set of characters and actors.

Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz will play father and daughter, while Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer and Sophia Myles are all set to star.

This new cast is set to take the franchise in a different direction, and I am looking forward to seeing what Bay has up his sleeve this time around.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is released 10th July.
