Former N-sync-er Joey Fatone became a dad for the second time on Monday night, but the birth wasn't without it's medical complications after his wife Kelly was rushed into hospital on New Years Ever suffering chronic fatigue.

Docs in Florida found clots in the TV personality's lungs and diagnosed her with a rare genetic condition called Methylene-Tetra-Hydro-Folate-Reductase.

Fatone tells People.com, "It was life and death." The pop star's wife of five years spent two days in intensive care and then was transferred to a ward.

When Kelly started experiencing fainting spells last week, doctors induced her labour two weeks before her due date. Baby Kloey Alexandra was born on Monday, and weighed in at just five pounds, eight ounces (2.49 kilograms).

Fatone tells the website, "Kloey's so small. She looks like a little doll. But she's healthy and doing just fine." And the singer reveals his wife is well on the road to recovery as well: "The blood clots have broken up, Kelly's doing fine."

Fatone and his wife already have an eight-year-old daughter called Briahna, who picked her baby sister's middle name.
