Following last week’s announcement of U2’s exclusive BRITs performance, the UK record labels’ body, The BPI, today announced that Kings of Leon, Duffy and Girls Aloud will be taking to the Earls Court stage at The BRIT Awards 2009 with MasterCard on 18th February.
Reflecting yet another eclectic BRIT Awards line up are British pop phenomenon Girls Aloud, UK Soul chanteuse Duffy and America’s biggest export Kings of Leon who will perform alongside global superstars U2 and Outstanding Contribution To Music winners Pet Shop Boys. The BRITs continues to showcase some of the biggest and the best talent in music, with 2009’s line up shaping to be one of the most exciting shows yet. Pop siren and three time BRIT Award winner, Kylie, will also be making her award hosting debut at The BRIT Awards 2009 with MasterCard. She will team with comedy upstarts Mathew Horne and James Corden, for the biggest and most coveted music awards ceremony in Europe.
First meeting in 2007 when Mathew Horne made a cameo appearance in Kylie’s hugely successful one off ITV1 special ‘The Kylie Show’ the trio have remained great friends and are promising to bring a night of sparkling wit and stunning outfits to The BRIT Awards stage.

Added to Kylie, Mathew and James hosting, it’s going to be a must-see event. With the Nominations launch taking place tomorrow night, the countdown to the 2009 BRITs is now truly underway.â€
Kings of Leon released their most successful album to date Only By The Night in September 2008 and saw the debut single from the album ‘Sex On Fire’ taking the number one slot in the UK Charts.
Duffy experienced a stratospheric rise to fame in 2008, topping both the UK single and album charts simultaneously as well as breaking the American Billboard Charts.
One of the most successful UK girls bands of the last decade, Girls Aloud released brand new album Out of Control in November of last year and still hold the word record for The Most Consecutive Top Ten Entries in the UK by a Female Group.
Expect a night of high glamour and hilarity at what promises to be the most spectacular BRIT Awards yet as the trio of hosts guide millions of TV viewers and over ten thousand music fans partying in Earls Court through one of the most exhilarating nights in the UK Music calendar. For the first time in BRITs history, the Awards will be hosted by three dynamic presenters.
The Nominations for The BRIT Awards 2009 with MasterCard will be unveiled at London’s Roundhouse on Tuesday January 20 2009. The launch will be televised on ITV2 that same night.
