British rapper Professor Green and Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé will be giving an exclusive performance at this year’s MOBO Awards in association with Lebara Mobile which will be returning to Glasgow’s SECC on 5th October.

The duo will treat the Glasgow audience to a unique performance of their new track 'Read All About It' which is released next month.

The chart topping pair will be joined on stage by a string quartet which will be sure to make for a show stopping performance.

Emeli Sandé will perform her first solo single 'Heaven', which scored her a number two hit earlier this year. Furthermore, Emeli is hoping to pick up her first MOBO Award on the night as she is nominated for the Best Newcomer in association with Lebara Mobile, which fans can vote for on the official MOBO Facebook page.

Professor Green, who picked up a MOBO Award for Best UK Hip Hop/Grime act and also performed on the MOBO stage last year, comments: “Last year at the MOBO Awards with Ed Drewett was incredible! This year I have the pleasure of performing with friend and collaborator Emeli Sande and cannot wait!”

Emeli Sandé, who hails from Scotland will be performing to her home crowd comments: “It's great to be performing at the MOBO Awards this year in a city that's so close to my heart. Roll on October 5th!'

MOBO will also pay respect to the late Amy Winehouse with a special tribute led by Amy’s goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield.

Dionne, the 15 year old who is nominated for the Best UK R&B/Soul Act, will perform a specially selected Amy song as MOBO remember and honour her unique, soulful contribution to music.

Professor Green, Emeli Sandé and Dionne Bromfield join an already stellar line-up of performers who are poised to set the MOBO stage alight.

Alesha Dixon will join Jason Derulo to co-host, who will also be showing off his impressive moves with an exclusive performance, while backstage presenters Dappy and Tinchy Stryder will take to the stage to give a joint performance.

R’n’B heavyweights Boyz II Men, soul sensation Jessie J, UK Dubstep star Katy B, UK garage MC Ms Dynamite, grime star Wretch 32 and American R’n’B princess Alexis Jordan complete the line-up.

The Glasgow SECC will also welcome appearances from Rizzle Kicks, Yasmin, Chipmunk, N’Dubz’s Fazer and Labrinth.

MOBO CEO and founder Kanya King comments: “Amy made a huge impact on the music industry – we want to honour and celebrate this and the special tribute from Dionne is sure to be an emotional and moving experience for all involved.

"This year’s show is certainly going to be a memorable night full of surprises – we hope that Glasgow is ready for us!”

MOBO is also shaking up the voting system this year by hosting one category exclusively on Facebook where fans can cast their vote as often as once a day for the Best Newcomer in association with Lebara Mobile on facebook.com/moboofficial to ensure their favourite artist takes the title.

The ten nominees in this category are watching their numbers go up and are asking for their fans’ support.

Other categories are voted for via mobo.com - all categories are voted for by the public.

Check back on Tuesday for our interview with founder and CEO of the MOBO Awards Kanya King.
