Sir Elton John To Open BBC Music Festival

Sir Elton John has promised fans "very special guests and memorable moments" at his upcoming show to kick off the BBC's annual music festival.

The Rocket Man was announced on Monday as the first performer in the line-up of the BBC's Electric Proms event in London next month, and Sir Elton has vowed to make it a gig to remember, revealing he will perform with legendary session musician/songwriter Leon Russell and many more musical guests, including rapper Plan B.

He says, "I'm delighted to be kicking off this year's Radio 2 Electric Proms, particularly as I'll be joined on stage by Leon who is one of my musical heroes. The performance will feature some very special guests and memorable moments."

The star's concert at London's Roundhouse will take place on 28 October.
