Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle has been the talking point of most of Britain, and in fact the USA, for over a week now, and her new found celebrity status doesn’t seem to be planning on dying out soon; but the question is, has Susan now got an unfair advantage over her fellow Britain’s Got Talent contestants?

Although it’s pretty safe to assume Susan went into the show with hopes of being a star, many of us never imagined the impact this lady would have once she opened her mouth.

Already she has bagged herself a record number of hits on YouTube as people continue to marvel at her audition for Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan, and I have to admit, on the night of the show, I even shed a little tear myself.

Susan’s success just goes to show how wrong we so often are to judge people on their appearances and how they act before we get to know what hidden qualities they might have, and I hope that Susan can help to eradicate the awful stereotypes we dish out.

The only concern I have now though, is that Susan has an unfair advantage over the rest of the contestants on Britain’s Got Talent, because let’s face it, she has millions of supporters behind her who are championing the underdog.

I have little doubt that she’ll make it in the music industry as her legions of fans push for a record deal, but could her career take a very different turn now she’s been offered a movie role alongside Cyndi Lauper and Tippi Desren… but the real question is, once the hype dies down, will Susan just be left to tend to her cats?

I suppose she can always count on Hugh Jackman for a helping hand though, after he decalred on his twitter.com account; "Where is Susan Boyle? I am ready for a duet."
