Producer Conference

The second annual One Stop Shop producer Conference is taking place in Phoenix this weekend. Masterminded by the Money Management Group, the OSS plays host to over 500 up and coming producers who get to mingle with a who's who in the Hip-Hop world. Being honored this year for their contribution to music are Atlanta's DJ Toomp who scored a second Grammy this year for his work with Kanye West on the Chicago rappers third album and also Swizz Beatz who has worked with artists such as Mary J Blige, Eve, Beyonce and DMX. The two day conference is taking place at the Regency Hyatt in Phoenix and runs from Sat to Sun.

Brooklyn Rapper to pay Notorious BIG

After what seems like years of deliberation, a decision has been made into who should play the role of Christopher Wallace, more commonly known as Biggie Smalls in the up and coming screenplay depicting the slain rappers life. The role is being filled Gravy, a rapper from the same borough as Wallace who beat hundreds of other hopefuls to take on the role of New York's most notorious. The mother of the rapper, Voletta Wallace will be played by Angela Basset and the movie is to be executive produced by Biggies long time friend and label boss Sean Combs who in turn is played by Derek Luke. Shooting for the movie is scheduled to commence in late March.

Snoop given three weeks

Rapper Snoop Dog and his former Priority Records home have been given three weeks by an LA judge to settle the dispute before the case will be sent to trial. Snoop filed a claim against the label for $2 million dollars in unpaid royalties and a further amount of $950,000 which the label allegedly promised him in the form of an advance. Priority Records are disputing the claim saying that the rapper took too long to file the suit.

Diplomats owner named

As the Harlem faction breaks down publicly, the battle over the name between Jim Jones and Cam'Ron has been settled by files from the US Patent Filing Office actually proving that Cam'Ron is the sole owner of the Diplomats name even though Jim Jones has the rights to use the brand name on CDs and DVDs.

In the last few weeks there have been various reports and statements made by members of the Diplomats displaying frustration about the rift between the founders resulting in their inability to release music.
