TI to Head Up Atlantic

AS he is about to embark on a one year prison sentence there are various doors opening for the King of the South it appears.

There have been hints that TI who is set to hit the stage this weekend at the Grammys with Jay Z, Lil Wayne and Kanye West might be heading to the top of the food chain at Atlantic Records.

Julie Greenwald who is currently President of the label has been promoted to Chairman and COO of Atlantic which was founded in 1947 as of yesterday and rumours have already started that her successor might be Atlanta rapper TI, born Clifford Harris.

TI currently heads up his own imprint through Atlantic, Grand Hustle, which is home to acts such as B.O.B, Young Dro, Big Kuntry and Killer Mike. When questioned about his possible new position by MTV TI answered "It's among the realm of possibilities."

Game Pledges Allegiance with 50 Cent

Considering Game has continually been on a G UNOT campaign since being ousted from the group over five years ago, the Compton rapper has sided with his former label boss in the ongoing feud that 50 Cent has with Miami rapper Rick Ross.

Game was asked in a radio interview earlier this week about the hottest topic on the internet right now and said ‘for the first time in over four years he would have to go with 50 Cent on this one.’

The on going feud between 50 and Rick Ross began two weeks ago when Rick Ross released a track called Mafia Music which took aim at 50 Cent and his situation with the mother of his child.

Not one to sit on the sidelines 50 Cent struck back immediately and has since released videos and tracks of his own. These might be proving a little too much for Ross who has been told by his current label Def Jam to refrain from speaking publicly on the controversy with 50 Cent for fear of it hindering promotion of his current single with John Legend, Magnificent.

Game who is currently on a US tour will conclude his two month stint on the road in 50’s home city of NYC in March at the Blender Theater.

Usher Working on New Album

Usher is hard at work in Las Vegas working on his follow up to the disappointing commercial success of his fifth studio album Here I Stand.

The as of yet untitled album is expected in the first half of the year and Usher is working along side the likes of Jermaine Dupri, Pharrell Williams and the legendary Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on this project.

However one thing Usher has done with this new album is limit the involvement of his wife Tameka who is said to have been too involved with the last project. She is currently looking after the couples children while Usher is hard at work in the studio.

The Cam’Ron Comeback

After disappearing into thin air back in 2007, it looks like Cam’Ron fans who have waited patiently for the rapper to return have got their reward.

A track which leaked to the internet this week entitled I Hate my Job has been confirmed as being he first single of Cam’s new album. Crime Pays which boasts no appearances will be released through Asylum and is expected to hit stores on April 21st.

The estranged Diplomat is expected to embark on a tour to discuss what has been going on with him since he bowed out of the limelight two years ago after a bitter feud with 50 Cent and then with Jim Jones and Juelz Santana, also members of the Harlem Diplomats which Cam actually founded with Jim Jones.
