50 Cent in court
After appearing in front of a judge in Long Island, NY earlier this week, rapper Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson was ordered by a Judge to pay $10,000 in child support to the Mother of his child Shaniqua Tompkins and a further $15,000 in expenses for the couples son Marques Diamond Jackson. The couple have never had a specific agreement when it comes to their ten year old son, but it has always been acknowledged that the rapper has always provided adequately for him. But 50 filed papers with Family Court earlier this year in hoping to set up an official agreement. The rappers third album is expected to hit shelves in Summer.
CD Sales Drop
As digital media literally has a hold over music consumers, the final days of CDs may actually be closer than people think. Sales for the shiny metal discs have dropped 32% over the last year and it looks like it will continue to drop as digital media continues its overthrow.EMI Recordings have reported an increase however in their digital media sales of 59%. It is the digital boom era we find ourselves in that has encouraged high street retailers such as Tower Records to go into liquidation. With devices like Ipods and the new Microsoft Zune which can hold up to 25,000 songs on a simple device that can be downloaded from the internet it is hard for chains such as Tower Records to compete.
Bullets riddle Tony Yayo's Mothers house
The residence of G Unit rapper Tony Yayo's Mother was riddled with bullets on Wednesday night. The house in Queens New York was allegedly shot at after midnight but no shots were allegedly heard outside. No-one was hurt in the shooting.

Tony Yayo has yet to comment on the situation, but this shooting comes after his recent alleged assault on the son of Jimmy Rosemond, the CEO of Czar Entertainment who manages former G Unit member The Game. Yayo is expected to appear in court in early April to answer to charges of aggravated assault on the 14 year old boy in Manhattan last month.

Beyonce named in Lawsuit
British singer Des'ree has filed a lawsuit against singer Beyonce in a court in Manhattan. The suit comes after the R&B sensation featured a track on her recently re-released B Day project. The album features a song called Still in Love (Kissing you) which Des'ree actually wrote back in 1996, then called I'm Kissing You, which featured on the soundtrack for the movie Romeo and Juliet, which starred Leordardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes in the adaptation of the famed Shakespearean play.

Beyonce and her label failed to get official consent from Des'ree who is now seeking $150,000 in compensation for copyright infringement. Des'ree had numerous hits through the 1990's including Feel so High and Gotta Be both in the UK and the US.

Dame Dash Sues Accountant
Former partner and manager of Ja Z has recently filed a lawsuit against his accountant, Barry Klarberg. Dash's accountant is known as 'the accountant to the stars' and works with an extensive roster of music celebrities and sports figures as a financial advisor as well as accountant.

Dash is disputing the tax returns that were made on his behalf by Klarberg as well as the miscalculation on the money he owed for tax year 2005. The lawsuit states that Dash, former co-owner of the Rocafella record label and clothing, line is seeking $3.5 million dollars for the errors made by the famed accountant.
