In our mid-week catch up with all things Urban, at last rapper Shyne is almost free, Just Blaze jumps on board with Jay Electronica, Method Man fined for shooting fan and Chris Brown turns up on stage with Lil Wayne.

Having served eight and half years of a ten year sentence stemming from the notorious shooting which saw him flee a NY nightclub in 1999 with Sean Combs and his then girlfriend Jennifer Lopez,  Shyne will be released on October 6th after appearing in front of an NYC court yesterday.

The rapper was granted a two and a half year parole supervision when released from prison, the minimum supervision granted to a case of this stature.

Rumors have been circulated that Shyne may sign with Jay Z’s Roc Nation upon being released from prison.

Just Blaze links with Jay Electronica


Possibly one of the most sought after lyricists right now, Jay Electronica will be working with production mastermind Justin Blaze on his debut album.

Blaze, responsible for tracks with Kanye West, Jay Z, is said to be excited to work with the New Orleans based Electronica. According to the producer there are numerous deals on the table for the MC, but a decision has yet to made in regards to where the album will end up.

Just Blaze is also known for working along side fledgling star Saigon.

Method Man Sued by Fan

A Texas woman is suing rapper method Man after he allegedly shot a pellet gun at her numerous times as she approached him to secure an autograph.

Mary Anderson has filed a string of charges against the rapper including infliction of bodily injury, infliction of emotional distress and offensive physical contact.

The Wu Tang member had been performing at the House of Blues in Houston with Redman while promoting the duo’s new album Black Out II prior to the incident.

Chris Brown Comeback?

The America’s Most Wanted Tour which features Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy had more surprises in store for fans when it stopped off in Virginia this week.

Joining Lil Wayne on stage was Chris Brown who Weezy introduced as the ‘next Michael Jackson.’ This was the first time Chris Brown had performed publicly since his altercation with former girl-friend Def Jam Recording artist Rihanna.

Brown, who was sentenced to 180 hours community service for assaulting Rihanna on the Eve of the Grammy Awards earlier this year, is not confirmed to be performing at any other dates on the North American tour.
