Clocks signed to Island Records in 2007 and have since been writing and recording their debut album with Elliot James (Bloc Party, Fields and Little Man Tate). ‘Old Valve Radio’ is their first single proper on the label released on April 7.It’s a driving, stomping smash of an indie-pop song replete with big hooks and a big chorus. Serious summer festival sing-alongs surely await this new entrant in the search for the UK’s best new pop-rock boy band.Their influences are clear – from classic 60’s pop to cheeky Britpop and through to present day indie-pop bands, and with talent like this, they won’t have far to go to reach the top of their game.‘All I Can’ was released as a taster for the band right at the top of this year. Backed by ‘That Much Better’ it was available on limited 7” and download only. This will remain available throughout their forthcoming tour. ‘That Much Better’ has also been confirmed as Bebo’s Single Of The Week starting Feb 16.To complement the bands debut album campaign, they secured two of the best and most sought after artists to design their artwork – Mr Pete Fowler and Mark James (SFA, Magic Numbers, Monsterism, Gruff Rhys) have put pen to paper (or actually paint to wood) and created 12 beautifully and individually cartooned Russian Dolls that will each, in turn, feature on single and album sleeves. The dolls currently play host to a USB featuring ‘All I Can’ audio, video, an early ‘That Much Better’ video and a Clocks wallpaper. These are available from the band on tour or via their website – www.clocksband.com
