Ruarri Joseph releases ‘Blankets’ on September 24 through Atlantic Records, the single is taken from his acclaimed debut album ‘Tales Of Grime And Grit’ which was released in July. ‘Blankets’ will be available for download and on 7 limited edition coloured vinyl. A scruffy, flip-flop-wearing 25 year-old with a thatch of unruly hair and a voice like scuffed leather, Ruarri was born in Edinburgh before relocating to the tiny Cornish village of Callestick aged 4. His love for Cornwall informs much of his music, but this isn't the Cornwall of grimly Pimms'd up yahoos spending daddy's money in Rock, this is the other side of coastal town life - the extremes of excitement and boredom, the washed out and the washed up, the drunks and the dreamers. Still brushing away the mud from appearances at Glastonbury, Latitude and Indian Summer festivals, Ruarri’s enchanting live performances have also won him support slots with indie luminaries such as Wilco and Kate Nash. In addition to forthcoming festival appearances at Bestival, Beautiful Days and Ripcurl Unleashed, Ruarri is embarking on his first headline tour of the UK in September, full dates below: September Sat 8 BESTIVAL Isle Of Wight Mon 17 MANCHESTER Night & Day Thurs 20 BIRMINGHAM Glee Club Fri 21 GLASGOW Brel Bar Sun 23 BRIGHTON Komedia Mon 24 SOUTHAMPTON Unit 22 Tues 25 LONDON Spitz
