London based 4-piece Rushmore release their new single ‘Last Chance’ on Mercury Records in the UK on September 17th 2007. Rushmore’s music revels in the natural, comradely harmonies that only a sibling band such as the Everly Brothers or the Magic Numbers could produce. Last Chance echoes the laidback country rock of the Eagles and the rich, simple acoustic texture reminiscent of Crosby Stills Nash and Young or the Beatles, while the lyrics deal with the band’s remarkable journey so far.Neil and Ed Ormandy, the founding members of Rushmore, are two song-writing brothers who hail originally from deepest, darkest Devon. After 7 years of performing on the well-trodden UK gig circuit and a tantalising, yet ultimately ill-fated, glimpse of pop’s glittering prizes in Los Angeles, their determination finally won out one afternoon when they were discovered whilst busking in Leicester Square. Fittingly, Last Chance was the song that sealed the deal.

Track listing: 1.Last Chance 2.Tired of Walking

Last Chance was produced, recorded and mixed by Craig Silvey (Magic Numbers) at Konk Studios in North London. The single is taken from Rushmore’s debut album River of Gold, which is released in the UK on September 24th 2007.

Jimmy Simms (bass) and Adam Faulkner (cahon) join the brothers Ormandy to complete Rushmore and the 4-piece have recently opened shows for Simply Red, Keith Urban, James Morrison and Paulo Nuitini. You can see them perform live at the following dates:
