Scouting For Girls release their debut album, ‘Scouting For Girls’, through Epic Records on 17th September 2007. It is preceded by a single, She’s So Lovely, on 3rd September.

London indie pop trio Scouting For Girls are a band that offer a unique take on life. Their warmth, wit and healthy dose of bittersweet nostalgia, make an individual stand for the young at heart. Using unforgettable melodies and weaving lyricism, they chronicle lost youth and broken hearts. Not since Supergrass has a band managed to make such joyous, moving and vivid music with the onus on the fun and pitfalls of everyday life."What’s the use of the money, when we ain't got no time?" - ‘Keep On Walking’

The band have already been experiencing a whirlwind 2007. Signing to Epic Records on Valentines’ Day following a band rehearsal in their decaying Acton studio, the band were packed off to Helioscentric Studios in Rye within a week, and have since found their music filling the country’s airwaves with the debut release of their limited edition EP, 'Its Not About You' from 1st June.

Their formation, akin to their music, is both charming and endearingly simple. School friends Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse and Pete Ellard grew up in and around Harrow together. Pete was Roy’s ‘sixer’ at Cub Scouts, and Roy met bassist Greg in the playground at junior school. Ever since those school years, when Roy hung back after the school gates were locked to mess around on the music teacher’s drum kit, and then persuaded Greg to get an acoustic guitar aged 14, the trio have been indebted to writing songs together.

The band began their now infamous fan club the ‘Wolf Cub Club’ (currently bulging at the seams with Wolf Cubs across the world) at the beginning of their formation in 1996. New members receive a membership card (allowing reduced entry tickets to gigs), a Scouting For Girls Handbook (with song lyrics, membership rules and a flow of useful ‘life’ information), and a secret code to be used in sending coded messages to other members.

Their first national tour in May/June has found ‘Wolf Cubs’ touring the length and breadth of the country in adoration and loyalty to their new heroes, and those numbers are growing with every touring week, screaming back the lyrics to each spellbinding tune.‘Scouting For Girls’ is an album that boasts an unparalleled clutch of 12 uplifting and affecting indie pop songs, all sprinkled with the same magic dust that has arrested their rapidly growing fanbase the country over.

Scouting For Girls look destined to become one of the nation’s most cherished bands.
