Carla Bruni pleased with Pope's Condom statement.

Carla Bruni has announced she is pleased with the Pope's statement about the use of condoms should be used to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Carla Bruni whose brother died from the disease, said: "I think this is quite an enormous step towards something very new.I have been touched by the very recent declaration by Pope Benedict XVI and am grateful."

In 2009 Bruni criticised the Pope for his statement, showing disapproval of "damaged" countries in Africa.
