Diamond Set For Thanksgiving Day Parade

The singer will give South Dakota a tourism boost.

Neil Diamond has signed up to help South Dakota officials boost tourism in the state at this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.

The 'Sweet Caroline' singer will ride on and perform from the South Dakota Department of Tourism’s Mount Rushmore’s American Pride float on the U.S. holiday.

The parade appearance will be one of many 2011 career and personal highlights for the veteran entertainer - he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; was feted at the Billboard Music Awards with the coveted Icon Award; became engaged to manager Katie McNeil, and next month Diamond will be among the stars saluted at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C..
