British pop stars DURAN DURAN have scrapped their remaining U.K. tour dates so frontman SIMON LE BON can undergo treatment for a throat infection.

The 1980s hitmakers were forced to axe the opening two shows of their trek earlier this month (May 11) when Le Bon was struck down with the illness.

But they have now had to cancel the rest of their U.K. concert plans, including gigs in Manchester and Sheffield in England, as the singer struggles to overcome his ailment.

He is being treated for the throat problems and has been told by doctors to rest his voice for "about another week", before Duran Duran head to Germany for the next leg of their European tour.

In a statement posted on the band's website, Le Bon writes, "I know how difficult this has been for all of the fans, as we've been postponing shows with very little notice, in the hope each day that the improvement would have been significant enough for me to sing again without risking any long-term damage.

"I am now focussing on getting back for Berlin - which is on June 8th."
