Enrique Iglesias is playing down reports suggesting he stood Britney Spears up as her opening act, insisting he had not signed on for the tour when the Toxic singer went public with the news.
Spears was left red faced when she made the announcement she'd be touring with the Spanish hunk during a TV appearance in March (11) - because he had yet to firm up the deal, and Iglesias had plans to hit the road this summer (11) with rapper Pitbull instead.
He tells HollyScoop.com the plans to tour with Britney fell through at the last minute, revealing, "The contracts were just being looked through and nothing was official."
Spears has since lined up Nicki Minaj as her support act, but Iglesias isn't ruling out concerts with the pop star in the future, admitting he would "love to go on tour with her".
