Everything Everything

Everything Everything

Small time Rock Band Everything Everything have defied the odds by being nominated for two Ivor Novello awards stunning the music industry and critics.

The band who are based in Manchester, north England, formed in 2007 and released their debut album, Man Alive less than a year ago barely making it into the top 20 on the U.K. album chart.

Their most successful track, MY KZ UR BF reached a lowly 121 in the singles rundown in August last year and was re-released due to poor sales.

The four-piece band has now received critical acclaim and a place on the shortlist for two Ivor Novello honours - for best album and best song, for Man Alive and MY KZ UR BF.

The group is going up against British rapper Plan B and Bombay Bicycle Club in the album category, and against Foals and Villagers for best song.

Plan B scores a second nomination - he's battling it out with Kylie Minogue and Scouting for Girls in the most performed song category - while Mercury Prize winners The xx, singer Katy B, and rapper Tinie Tempah are up for the best contemporary song honour.

The awards ceremony is due to take place in London on 19 May.
