Fergie Is Billboard's Woman Of The Year

The Black Eyed Peas singer and solo music artist Fergie has been crowned Woman of the Year by America's Billboard magazine.

The My Humps hitmaker will be handed the honor - which pays tribute to a trailblazing female music artist - at a ceremony in New York on 2 December.

Fergie tells the Associated Press she is "humbled" to accept the award, which she called a "great career achievement".

Previous honorees include Beyonce, Ciara and country music veteran Reba McEntire.
