Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel, former Fugees stars, reunited for a star-studded benefit in New York on Saturday to honour philanhropist Sean Penn.

Model Petra Nemcova hosted the party to raise funds for Haiti through her charity Happy Hearts Fund, which rebuilds schools in natural disaster areas, and the toast of the evening was Penn, who picked up the Lifetime Achievement for his ongoing work in the earthquake hit nation.

U2 members Bono and The Edge performed for the Milk star and Haitian natives Jean and Michel sang a set of their hometown carnival favourites.

Josh Groban also took to the stage and announced his plans to donate instruments to the cause through his own charity, Find Your Light Foundation.

A live auction at the event raised $2.3m for the charity.
