DJ Herc Honoured In New York
Jamaican music producer DJ Kool Herc has been honoured for his contribution to music by a U.S. congressmanHip-hop star DJ Herc - real name Clive Campbell - returned to his former Bronx apartment on Monday (23Jul07) to be honoured in a Congressional Record by New York congressman José E. Serrano.Senator Charles E. Schumer also attended the ceremony.He says, "The building was more than bricks and mortar; it's ground zero for hip-hop's birth."This building, which housed hip-hop's founding father."
Outkast Star Turns Detective
Outkast star Big Boi is offering a $50,000 (£25,000) reward after thieves stole an entire collection of jeans from his wife's clothes store.

The rapper - real name Antwan André Patton - was angered after thieves broke into the boutique in Atlanta, Georgia and stole his wife Sherlita Patton's top designs, reports AllHipHop.com.

He told a U.S radio station, "It is not a good day when your wife calls and says, 'Babe, they got us.'

"So you know, I've got to see about this personally. You don't even have to call the police folk. Just call me . I'll get this handled." (LJ/WNWCAH/IG)

Cee-Lo Mines Hendrix Gold
Gnarls Barkley star Cee-Lo Green has acquired the rights to release a handful of rare Jimi Hendrix material.

The Crazy singer plans to release the tracks, from master tapes that were shelved for 15 years, on his label Radiculture Records.

Cee-Lo also plans to sample the material for a series of upcoming projects.
