Katie Waissel

Katie Waissel

I know a few people might not be Katie's biggest fans, but I think to go as far as sending her death threats might be a little bit over the mark.

It's clear she's not exactly The X Factor's most popular contestant (although someone must like her, she did after all get more votes than Aiden on Sunday night), and as if to make her time on the show even harder, some angry fans have been posting awful texts online.

After the blonde avoided the chop once again on Saturday, viewers of the show took to the internet to lay into the pop wannabe; one wrote: "Katie Waissel deserves to die right at this minute." Whilst another said: "All I can say is die Katie Waissel!"

An X Factor spokeswoman said: "These threats are disgusting and outrageous. This is cyber bullying and we will not put up with it. We are doing what we can to stop it and are contacting police."

Not only that, but after Sunday's vote, more than 150,000 people signed up for a revolting Facebook page that claimed Katie was harder to get rid of than a sexually transmitted disease.

Security has now been beefed up at The X Factor house and Katie has been warned not to go out alone. Crikey, some people are taking this TV show way too seriously!
