Kings Of Leon Jared Followill depressed following dates being cancelled

Jared Followill feels 'utterly depressed' about the Kings Of Leon US tour cancellation, but has promised o use the time out from the shows to work on new material for the band.

The Sex on Fire singers axed their current trek on Monday to allow frontman Caleb Followill to recover from 'vocal issues and exhaustion'.

The announcement follows their disrupted weekend after the singer walked off stage in Dallas, claiming that the heat was too intense for him to continue.

As a result, the band pulled out of a concert in Houston on the Saturday.

Bassist Jared admits he's devastated about disappointing fans by cancelling the shows, but says that they will put the time to good use.

He tweeted: "Utterly depressed. It's completely out of my hands. Family has to come 1st. If bass solos & backing vocals were more popular, I'd be there.

"Thanks to all my friends, family, & fans. I'm not going to stop working. I'm going to spend time writing songs and looking to the future. Don't jump to conclusions guys. We're not breaking up."

The band will continue with their dates in Canada on 28 September.
