Lauryn Hill performs on stage with Fugee bandmate

Lauryn Hill has paved the way for a full Fugees reunion after reuniting with former bandmate Pras Michel at a music festival in New York.

The Everything is Everything singer/rapper was one of the headline acts at the Big Apple leg of the Rock the Bells festival on Saturday and she performed the whole of her classic album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

Hill was unhappy about the sound quality throughout the gig and stopped during songs to speak with technicians, causing fans to grow restless.

The audience was very excited when she introduced her Fugees friend Michel to the stage mideay through a performance of Fu-Gee-La, showing their affection by huggin at the end.

Michel congratualated Hill on the birth of her sixth child and Hill sais of her pal's surprised appearance: "They just turn up! That's how the Fugees do!"

They went on to sing Ready Or Not and closed with Killing Me Softly. The incredibly private Hill even brought her kids out onto the stage to wave to the crowd.

This is the first appearance of the Fugees stars together since 2006, where the trio with Wyclef Jean split for the second time, two years after regrouping.

At the time of the break up it was claimed that Hill needed psychiatric help by cousins Michel and Jean - but the Ghetto Superstar hitmaker and Hill seem to be over their problems now.

Other Rock the Bells acts included soul icon Erykah Badu, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah of Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill and Nas, who brought Hill back to the stage later that night for their collaboration If I Ruled the World (Imagine That), which served as the event finale.
