Leona Lewis' representatives are heading to the High Court to secure the right to release her new song 'Collide' after it has received accusations of plagiarism from a Swedish DJ.

Dance music producer Avicii claims Lewis has used a sample from one of his songs for hers without permission.

The DJ, real name Tim Bergling, has asked for an injunction to stop the release of the single going ahead today.

If the request is upheld it will prevent the planned release of Lewis' song on 4 September, according to the Guardian newspaper.

Lewis has denied the allegations of illegal sampling insisting that Avicii 'was aware' of the usage and agreed 'publishing splits for himself and his manager'.
