Matt Cardle is obviously happy about winning The X Factor - considering he's been talking about it non-stop for the past 48 hours - and he's now admitted that winning the karaoke competition has done more for him than just launch his music career….
Speaking to The Sun, Matt admitted that he wasted his youth drinking and experimenting with drugs, “I was a rebel, drifting about having a laugh and drink with mates. I never went mental but I was stupid.”
It was only Matt's family encouraging him to do something positive with his life that led to him auditioning for the show; “They wanted to see something happen in my life. They thought if I was serious about wanting to be a singer I should put some real effort into it. Then The X Factor came along. Entering it changed my life. It’s saved me in a way.”
