Merle Haggard cancels show and checks into hospital

Merle Haggard scrapped a show and checked into hospital instead.

The Okie From Muskogee singer/songwriter was feeling unwell before the concert and called on doctors at a Fort Worth hospital in Texas to check him out.

It is not known what ailed the 74 year old, but he was kept overnight and driven home to California early on Sunday.

The medical emergency is a big concern for fans because the country legend had surgery for lung cancer in 2008.
