My Chemical Romance announced that they will be recording their new studio album next month.

The band have been working on the follow-up on their 2010 album 'Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys' for the last year and guitarist Frank Iero has now said they are ready to record it.

Iero revealed to The Aquarian that sessions "were going really well" and he and his bandmates "couldn't wait to start tracking".

Iero said that writing of the band's fifth album is going really well. "I'm really excited. I can't wait to start tracking. I think we're maybe a month away from the record button lighting up."

The guitarist also confirmed that the band's current live drummer Jarrod Alexander would be playing drums on the band's new album. Alexander replaced the band's previous drummer Michael Pedicone in September 2011, who Iero called "a thieving piece of garbage."

Iero commented: "Jarrod is a rad guy and a fantastic player. It's been really fun making music with him these past few months. He loves coffee and hitting drums super-hard and the fact that he's not a thieving piece of garbage is a breath if fresh air."

Iero has preivously said that the MCR's new album wouldn't be "just a collection of songs" and said that they were eager to release another concept-heavy LP.
