Ray Davies paid a surprise visit to a village hall to watch a group of children perform a musical inspired by The Kinks.
The veteran rocker used the band's hits to create Child's Play, which chronicles the last 60 years of cultural and political life in the U.K. and was written to feature youngsters.
Pupils from a school in Cumbria, north-west England, have been performing in the musical and on Friday, Davies headed to the Coniston Institute to watch one of the shows.
He hailed the students as "very accomplished" and told the BBC: "It's a great village, it's got a great community spirit."

You've got a picture of Dave Davies rather than his brother Ray with this story.
