Veteran rockers The Police are to disband later this year (08) after one more tour of the U.S.The British trio, who originally split in the mid-1980s, reunited in 2007 for an extensive world tour which grossed more than $210 million (£105 million) - more than any other act that year (07).But the group - comprising of Sting on vocals, Stewart Copeland on drums and guitarist Andy Summers - have no plans to make their reformation long-term, with the axeman this week admitting they would not be recording any more new material.And according to sources close to the band, The Police will call it quits after the curtain falls on their final show in July (08), reports Rolling Stone magazine.Meanwhile the veteran rockers The Police have disappointed fans by announcing they have no intention to record any more new material.The British trio - who include Sting on vocals, Stewart Copeland on drums and guitarist Andy Summers - suspended work together in the mid-1980s amid reports of tensions within the group, but reformed last year (07) for an extensive world tour - prompting speculation that concerts would be followed up by a new record.But Andy Summers denies the band will be heading back to the recording studio - insisting they are only interested in performing their previous hits.He says, "No project for the moment. We only work for the tour, we want just the old songs to be good. We don't work on new ones".
